Grade 8620 – HSLA -Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum Steel
AISI 8620 Steel is a low alloy nickel, chromium, molybdenum case hardening steel, generally supplied in the as rolled condition with a maximum hardness HB 255max. SAE steel 8620 offers high external strength and good internal strength, making it highly wear resistant. AISI 8620 steel has a higher core strength than grades 8615 and 8617.
SAE 8620 alloy steel is flexible during hardening treatments, thus enabling improvement of case/core properties. Pre hardened and tempered (uncarburized) 8620 can be further surface hardened by nitriding but will not respond satisfactorily to flame or induction hardening due to its low carbon content.
Steel 8620 is suited for applications which require a combination of toughness and wear resistance. This grade is commonly supplied in round bar.
Grade 6150 – Chromium Vanadium Steel
AISI 6150 steel is chromium vanadium type spring steel. It’s a similar alloy steel to 5150 steel with small, but effective, vanadium addition, to import greater hardness. AISI steel 6150 has low distortion properties and is easily heat treated. The SAE 6150 steel grade is suitable for oil hardening and tempering.
ASTM 6150 steel is usually supplied in the as rolled condition. When used in the oil hardened and tempered condition SAE 6150 spring steel combines spring characteristics with excellent resistance to both abrasion and shock. Hardened 6150 steel offers excellent toughness and shock resistance which make it a suitable alloy spring steel for parts exposed to stress, vibration and shock.
Grade 4340 – Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum Steel
AISI 4340 steel is a medium carbon, low alloy steel known for its toughness and strength in relatively large sections. AISI 4340 is also one kind of nickel chromium molybdenum steels. 4340 alloy steel is generally supplied hardened and tempered in the tensile range of 930 – 1080 Mpa. Pre hardened and tempered 4340 steels can be further surface hardened by flame or induction hardening and by nitriding. The 4340 steel has good shock and impact resistance as well as wear and abrasion resistance in the hardened condition. AISI 4340 steel properties offer good ductility in the annealed condition, allowing it to be bent or formed. Fusion and resistance welding is also possible with our 4340 alloy steel. ASTM 4340 material is often utilized where other alloy steels do not have the hardenability to give the strength required. For highly stressed parts it is excellent choice. AISI 4340 alloy steel can also be machined by all customary methods.
Grade 4140 – Chromium Molybdenum Steel
AISI 4140 Steel Bar, Steel Plate, Flats Supplier, Stockist and Exporter. AISI SAE 4140 alloy steel is a chromium molybdenum alloy steel specification widely used in general purpose high tensile steel for components, like axles, shafts, bolts, gears and other applications. Similar to alloy grade AISI 4130 chrome moly alloy steel but with a slightly higher carbon content. The higher carbon content of AISI 4140 steel gives greater strength and heat treatment capabilities in comparison to AISI / ASTM 4130 alloy steels, however it does have inferior weldability characteristics.
EN 1A Series Steel
EN1A is a very popular grade of low carbon-manganese free cutting steel, which is most suitable for the manufacture of repetition turned components, such as nuts, bolts, hydraulic fittings and studs, particularly where intricate drilling and machining operations are involved. It can be case-hardened, producing components with enhanced wear resistance. En1a is also available as En1a leaded (En1aPb) for greater machinability. Swarf will form in small chips to prevent machine blockage.
EN1A is a non leaded Re-Sulphurised Free Maching Steel. This is premium grade of free cutting steel. It has excellent machinability. It is suitable for case hardening and electroplating. Typical applications are: Brake hose end, hydraulic parts, pulleys, disc brake pistons, wheel nuts and inserts, control linkages, hear box components (case hardened), domestic garbage bin axles, concrete anchors, padlock shackles, hydraulic fittings, vice jaws. En1a steel bars are used mostly in bright form.
En 8M Series Steel
EN8M steel (212M36) is a through solidifying carbon manganese free-cutting steel, for the most part provided untreated. En8m steel has great rigidity and is frequently utilized in riggings, shafts, focused on pins, studs, jolts, keys and so forth.
EN8M steel is a free-machining grade and is promptly machinable in any condition. It very well may be further surface-solidified to create segments with improved wear opposition, commonly to 50-55 HRC through acceptance forms.
Closely related grades include EN8DM (212A42)
EN 353 Series Steel
Product Details:
En 353 steel has carbon content of 0.17% and the most common form of steel as it’s provides material properties that are acceptable for many automobile applications such as heavy duty gear, shaft, pinion, cam shafts, gudgeon pins [1,8]. It is neither externally brittle nor ductile due to its lower carbon content and lower hardness. As the carbon content increases, the metal becomes harder and stronger.
